Analyzing the effect of practising with more than one educator on the students studying the string instruments

In this research, the positive and negative effect level of taking musical instrument lessons from more than one teachers on students was explained statistically. Stringed instrument students of music departments of faculties and instructors were chosen from six different regions of Turkey as the case studies of the research. In order to collect required data, a questionnaire with 22 items was applied to the students, and a questionnaire with 7 items was applied to the instructors. The data collected in this research was analyzed and evaluated by means of descriptive data analysis with spss 20 analyzing program including data analysis methods and Statistical package for the social sciences (SPSS 20). As a result, positive and negative situations faced by students did not carry a statistical meaning according to gender and the kind of instrument used, but when the number of teachers was taken into consideration, negative effects were determined. On the other hand, positive effect didn't make any sense statistically. Meaningful differences between new teachers' intervention to technique of instrument, not giving importance to studies on scale (gamut), practice of musical piece and the number of teachers who trained were determined. It was determined that thanks to students' confidence in their teachers, and the positive communication between the students and teachers, the students were able to acquire new technical skills. It was also determined that due to teachers' faulty technique of training, the students had difficulty in showing their technical skills which they had acquired before. They had physiologic problems and they lost their enthusiasm for playing the instrument. Many suggestions were submitted according to the findings of this research.
