Abstract (EN)
Books with visual content are considered not only aesthetically but also culturally and artistically as unique value carriers. The production of such books with the same design approach as text-only publications weakens the visual narrative power of the content and limits the potential for lasting cultural and artistic contribution. A qualified visual-text integrity can only be achieved within the framework of an artistic strategy that is sensitive to the context of the content and includes the physical structure. In this context, art books that can contribute to the cultural heritage of the country need to be meticulously planned at every stage, from content analysis to the production process. In addition, the misconception that electronic books are suitable for all content types in the face of their practical access advantages has been criticised as a perspective that threatens the quality of especially visually intensive works. The level of experience and interaction offered by the physical book form is still irreplaceable, especially when it comes to works with high visual intensity. In this study, it is aimed to systematically analyse books with visual content based on the 'analysis technique in design' and to develop design approaches appropriate to the content structure. Book design is not only considered as page layout; it is handled with a holistic perspective including writing, preparation, production and printing processes. With the use of different materials, solutions that appeal to the perception of the target audience have been focused on, and the impact of digital technologies and the changing reading habits of new generations on book design has been evaluated. In the application section, studies were carried out on sample contents based on the proposed analysis and design methods. Care has been taken to ensure that the application examples are original, remarkable and awareness-raising.
