Abstract (EN)

This study was designed to determine the effects of the use of Google Earth on students' achievement and attitude towards the social studies course. For this purpose, the study was prepared according to the quasi-experimental design with pretest-posttest control group. In the 2017-2018 academic year, the study was conducted with the participation of 52 seventh grade students in a middle school in Antalya. "The Economics and Social Life" unit, which is one of the seventh grade social studies courses, was taught to the experimental group by using Google Earth prepared by the researcher and the control group as appropriate to the existing curriculum. The data obtained from the application were analyzed by using descriptive statistics and t-test techniques on SPSS 23.00. As a result of the analysis of the research data, it was concluded that the use of Google Earth in the social studies course had a significant effect on the students 'success, but the use of Google Earth in social studies did not have a significant effect on students' attitudes towards the course. The results of the study were compared with the results of the related studies. Based on the findings of the study, some suggestions were made to the researchers and practitioners.
