Effect of mindful eating and physical activity on weight change after liposuction operation

Although liposuction is one of the most frequently performed aesthetic operations, studies on the preservation of the body contour in the following period are very limited. In our study, the effects of these factors were examined in 56 patients, considering that mindful eating and physical activity level are important components in weight control. In our study, the difference between the pre-operative weights of the individuals and their current weights was as a percentage change; It has been associated with mindful eating and physical activity. As a result of our study, no direct relationship was found between maintaining the contour (not gaining weight) after liposuction and eating awareness and physical activity. However, it has been observed that the amount of fat removed during liposuction is an important factor in maintaining body contours and even losing weight. This situation can be thought that regardless of eating awareness and physical activity, the degree of the operation (the amount of fat removed) may increase the importance people attach to the operation and cause them to better manage the subsequent process. Although our study has a limited number of participants, it can guide future studies since it is one of the pioneering studies on this subject. Considering the limited publication in this area, more studies should be conducted on the relationship between nutrition and liposuction.
