Özet (EN)

This research contains the historical and cultural analysis of the stories of Qur'an related with Yemen region. The aim of the research is to reveal the historical and cultural reality of the relevant stories of Qur'an. As to it's goal is to throw light on uncertainties in the relevant stories. Relevant stories were evaluted with date fact rapport method. The research consist of three chapters. In the introduction, informations about the subject, scope, aim, importance, method and sources of research were presented The literature review of research was also included. In the first chapter, story concept in Qur'an and problematic matters in regard to stories of Qur'an were handled. In the second chapter, Yemen in the pre-Islamic period was introduced, Yemeni origin stories that Âd tribe, Queen of Sheba and Sheba people were researched. In the third chapter, stories of Qur'an connected with Yemen that are Luqmân, Thamûd tribe, people of Midian/Ayka, Ashâb al-Ukhdûd (People of the Ditch) and Ashâb al-Fil (People of Elephant) were handled. As a result of our research, it was determined that the orientalists approach to the issue of the source of Qur'anic stories not scientifically but ideologically. It was conclued that the Arabs of nuzûl period knew the stories that were the subject of our research through oral culture, trade and migrations. It is formed opinion that there is no second Âd tribe in history. Evidences predominate relative to existence of Queen of Sheba. However her identity couldn't be identified. It was concluded that Luqmân is Yemeni Luqmân b. Âd. It was concluded that people of Midian and Ayka were the same tribes. Ashâb al-Ukhdûd are unbelivers. The relevant pits were excavated in Najrân by dhû-Nuwâs and his retinues. It was seen that political and economic concerns were at the forefront in the formation stories of Ashâb al-Ukhdûd and Ashâb al-Fil. As a result, it was determined that the stories that were the subject of our research have historical and cultural reality.
