Abstract (EN)
In this study, A1-torsional irregularity which is a part of the Turkish EarthquakeCode and one of the important irregularities that affects the choice of methods to be used forearthquake design of building and building-like structures was investigated in detail. Thestudy was conducted for different types of structures. The variations of torsional irregularitiesaccording to the number of structural axes and number of stories were investigated. Differentexamples were solved for increased cross-sectional dimensions, additional symmetric shearwalls and relocated shear walls. The underlying purpose in doing this was to prevent torsionalirregularity (ηb>1.2) and excessive torsional irregularity (ηb >2) in structures. The exampleswere solved by SAP2000 software. Keywords : Earthquake Regulations, Torsion Irregularity, Reinforced Concrete, Shear Walls
