The effect of worksheets on standard of attainments and the attitude of the students "water analysis" in new science cirriculum

The main purpose of this research is to assign the effects of worksheets on standard of attainments and the attitude of the students on the water. The research has been conducted with an exprimental model of a controled previous and the final test group.The sample of this study, via a random sample, was selected two primary school students in Manisa.The research has been conducted on the middle of 2006 ? 2007 semester with the 7th class students of Manisa / Demirci Atatürk Primary School(A) and Esenyurt Primary School(B). There was totaly 40 students in A, 20 from the group of controlled students and 20 from experiment group. There was totaly 40 students in B, 20 from the group of controlled students and 20 from experiment group. So there was totaly 80 students in two primary school. Also both of two groups has been educated by the researcher.In the research to measure the ability of water attitude of the students, ?water attitude scale group test? , has been exercised. And to measure the attitude of the students against water treatment, four open ended questions has been exercised with an exprimental model of a controled previous and the final test group.And in the analysis of gained data, statistical processes, t-test, mean ( x ), standartdeviation (s), frequency (f) and percentage (%) are used. Statistical processing is made at the SPSS 11.5 program. Whether the gained data is meaningful or not is evaluated according to .05 significant levels.It is occured that there is a meaningful difference between the water attitude scale andthe open ended questions group test of the students who are educated with worksheetsand experiments and the ones who are educated with the traditional methods (controlgroup). Also it is obtained that there is a big difference between the last and the first testresults of the experiment group.As per the research it can be stated that the education with the worksheet has apositive effect on the open ended questions and the attitude of the students on the the water attitude scale.Key words: Water treatment unit, water attitude, student?s achievement, new Science and Technology Circulum
