Teachers' opinions about instructional leadership roles of primary school principals in the application of new primary school curriculum

In this study, the opinions of primary school teachers about instructional leadership roles of primary school principals in the application of new primary school curriculum were tried to be determined. In the scope of quantitative survey, the sample of the practised research was constituted from primary school teachers who work at the public schools in the centre of Polatlı district which is bound to city of Ankara. The 35 item data collecting instrument which was developed by the researcher and includes the behaviours related to the application of new primary school programme in the scope of instructional leadership, and personal information form were applied.The collected data were entered to SPSS 15.0 programme and analysed with the mediation of this programme. The opinions of teachers about instructional leadership were examined with the calculation of frequency, percentage and average; and evaluated in three levels. With one way anova variance analyze, it was examined that whether there is difference according to the variants of occupational seniority and the alma mater; and in the groups, which include differences, bilateral comparisons were made with Tukey test.When an evaluation made in accord with the items taking part in the data collecting tool, the findings which were got from this survey; shows, according to the opinions of the teachers in the sample, that principals practise the instructional leadership roles in the application of the new primary school curriculum on ?medium level?.The opinions of primary school teachers show difference in the dimension of ?providing the occupational development? in terms of teachers? occupational seniority and alma mater; but in other dimensions, statistically, there is not significant difference.
