Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, two different auxiliary ligands of 2,2-bipyridine derivative and their new iridium (III) complexes were synthesized. The ligands and complexes were characterized by using NMR, FTIR, Single Crystal XRD, cyclic voltammetry UV-Vis and PL techniques. Light emitting electrochemical devices (LEC) were applied with synthesized iridium complexes. The effect of the presence of electron withdrawing-donor groups in the ligands used and the difference of the counter anions in the structure on the device yields were investigated. Insight of the obtained studies, the highest device yield was obtained with the ligand containing methoxy group and the complex containing TFSI anion (2bTFSI). In this study, TFSI was used as a counter anion for the first time in complex synthesis. Device performance is optimized without an additional salt addition in LEC device production.
