Abstract (EN)

This study examined the Anahtar Kelimeler: İş yükü, Kamu iktisadi teşebbüsleri, Toksik liderlik, Yeni kamu yönetimieffects of organizational change processes experienced in public institutions on employees within the framework of the New Public Management (NPM) approach. The study evaluated the effects of critical variables such as workload and toxic leadership on employees. The study was conducted using data collected from a total of 400 public employees working in public institutions in different provinces of Turkey using a survey method. According to the research findings, a positive relationship was determined between the New Public Management processes and workload. In addition, a positive relationship was revealed between the New Public Management processes and the increase in the perception of toxic leadership. It was observed that the performance-oriented management approach brought by new public managament increased the perception of toxic leadership by transforming leadership behaviors and positively affected the mediating role of workload. In this study, it was emphasized that new public managent should adopt more participatory, transparent and fair approaches in terms of protecting the individual well-being of employees and improving administrative processes in organizational change processes. The study makes significant contributions to the literature by emphasizing the effects of workload, toxic leadership and new public managent on public employees.
