Abstract (EN)

A city can be defined as a place with a certain population in an area and where economic diversity is high. The population of the cities, which are seen as centers of attraction, is constantly increasing and receiving intense immigration. As a result of increasing immigration and intense population growth, the urbanization process has started and the climate change that arises with this process causes problems in many areas such as transportation problem, environmental pollution and security, and these urban problems are constantly increasing. Cities should be at a level where they can struggle and find solutions to these problems. As a matter of fact, the problems that cannot be solved are increasing day by day. This study aims to discuss the possibilities of solving problems in cities with sustainable urban models, within the framework of basic research focuses such as the city, the concept of urbanization and the causes of urbanization, sustainability, goals and principles, and the applicability of these models in local governments in the context of new city models. In the study, the urban models that emerged in the context of sustainability, how the city administration changed on the cities of our developing country, how new developments in our local government organization were affected by this change, and these effects were tried to be examined through the cities selected according to the Socio-Economic Development Ranking (SEGE) reports of the cities.
