Abstract (EN)

Titled "The Construction of the Self through New Media," this thesis investigates the construction of the self via new media, artificial intelligence, video, and photography art. The study examines the impact of digital technologies on art and the role of contemporary artists, starting from the pioneers of media art. The initial sections address the historical development of new media and the evolution of the concept of "Techne." Drawing on Walter Benjamin's texts on the age of mechanical reproduction, the processes of mechanical production in art are discussed. The third section explores how movements like Dadaism, Futurism, and Fluxus, with their political and anti-art stances, laid the foundation for conceptual art. The fourth section covers the historical development of video art and its impact on contemporary art. The fifth section focuses on the construction of the self through augmented reality, examining artworks created using photography, video, and artificial intelligence, along with their conceptual frameworks.
