An analysis on the problem of accuracy of news and ethics in new media: The examples of teyit.org and dogrulukpayi.com

Technological innovations have caused some important developments affecting human history. One of these innovations is making news with the emergence of internet and computer technology. The field of new media provided news to spread on virtual environments within the 20th century. Appearance of new types of making news has affected news making field broadly in today's digital world. While technology has helped news making to develop through the recent developments, it has also caused it to lose its value. Developing technology has caused the concepts of news making to be reviewed one more time. In this process of development, the ethical rules of traditional news making have been lost in new media environments, which caused some ethical problems to occur. One of the most important problems is the reliability of the news. The increasing rate of false news on the internet has caused some platforms to appear, which check the reliability of these news. In this study, through the development of news making, some ethical problems have been identified in the news on virtual environments. The effects of internet on news making have been investigated through the developing technology. In this study, the sample was used as the sites of teyit.org and dogrulukpayi.com, which analyze and try to check the reliability of the news. These websites were investigated for the term between the March 1st and April 1st, 2019 through the method of content analysis, through which the development of news making was tried to be identified in accordance with the technological developments. Based on the data provided, it was suggested that new media types affect the types of news. Accordingly, there is a contradiction between the advantages that new media provides to the field of making news and the increasing ethical issues.
