Özet (EN)

Investigation of Bacterial Adherence on The Surface of New Generation CAD/CAM Materials That May Occur With The Effect of Gastric Juice After Different Surface Finishing Processes The aim of the study is to evaluate the effect of different surface finishing processes and gastric juice on the bacterial adherence that may occur on the surface of aesthetic CAD/CAM restorative materials which are commonly used in dentistry. In this study, Vita Enamic (EN), Vita Suprinity (SP), Cerasmart (CS), Lava Ultimate (LU) and IPS e.max ZirCAD (ZC) materials were used. Total of 160 samples with the dimensions of 5x5x1 mm were obtained (n=8). Polishing (P) or glaze (G) surface treatments were applied to the samples. Afterwards, the samples were exposed to gastric juice for 24 hours under in-vitro conditions and sterilized in an autoclave. Samples were kept in synthetic saliva for 1 hour. After incubation of samples with S. mutans strain, S. mutans colonies formed on the surfaces were counted. Statistical analyzes were performed using Three-Way Anova and Bonferroni tests (p<0.05). It was found that the interaction of material*surface finishing factors did not significantly affect the amount of bacterial adherence (p>0.05). It was found that the interaction of material*gastric juice and surface treatment*gastric juice significantly affected the amount of bacterial adherence (p<0.001). Material*surface treatment*gastric juice* the effect of the three parameters on the amount of S. mutans adherence was found to be statistically significant (p=0.01). In the control groups (no gastric juice applied), it was observed that the surface finishing treatments did not affect the amount of S. mutans adherence differently (p>0.05). The specimens that were treated with gastric juice, it was observed that different surface finishing treatments caused significant differences between the groups (p<0.05). Statistically significant differences were performed in the glazed applied SP and CS groups which were treated with gastric juice (p<0.05). Regardless of the surface treatment, gastric juice increases the amount of S.mutans adherence on EN, SP, CS, LU, ZC surfaces. In patients with a history of gastroesophageal reflux or bulimia, it would be more convenient to prefer glazed SP or CS materials to reduce the bacterial adherence.
