Abstract (EN)
In this study, it was intended to synthesize the polycarboxylates which contains substitude groups (such as sulfonate) that wouldn't create environmental drawbacks. The availability and advantages of the calcium binding capacity of polycarboxylates which have sequestering features comparing to the other known sequestering elements in liquid and powder detergent was examined. In these studies, homopolymers, copolymers and terpolymers in liquid form were synthesized by using acrylic acid, maleic acid, vinyl sulfonic acid monomers in various proportions with the free radical polymerization. The molecular weight of synthesized polymer was identified by GPC. Monomers and polymers were characterized by FT-IR. Several physical and chemical tests such as ion binding test, pH, viscosity were made. Polymers synthesized in liquid format converted to powder by spray drying and TGA and DTA analysis were made. Synthesized polymers in liquid and powder form, have been used in detergents and the advantages against the other sequestering agents on the market were compared.
