Abstract (EN)

In thıs study, six unıts of silver carbene complesexe, newly synthesized in Inonu Unıversıty Laboratory, were tested on SHSY5Y (brain cancer cell line) and HEP3B (liver cancer cell line) cell lines for its cytotoxicity by using MTS proliferation assay. Human fibroblast cells were used as control group in the tests. The results of cytotoxicity tests were monitored in 24 hours intervals for 3 days and the ratio of the viable cells was determined by spectrophotometry as 490 nm absorbance. 5 were tested in the silver carbene complexes in brain and liver cancer cell line caused a dose-dependent toxicity of these cell lines was monitored and the result of the 3-day incubation of cell death was detected up to 100%. However, for each complex of the minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) against to reference bacteria and fungi strains are tested and according to the results obtained to antibacterial effects were higher compared to antifungal effects. According to the results of the thesis, this study used silver carbene complexes in cancer cell lines, without harming healthy cells is active cell death is observed. Ongoing studies, we planned to be search on other cancer cell lines and in vivo models therapeutic potential of these molecules.
