Abstract (EN)
Ellipticine and Olivacine alkaloids, which have antitumor activity, are important alkaloids in pyrido[4,3-b]carbazole structure. These two compounds isolated from Ochrosia elliptica in quite lower yields. For this reason, synthesis of these compounds and their derivatives in laboratory came into question for chemists. Generally, these compounds have been obtained in the laboratory by consecutive synthesis steps starting from carbazole or tetrahydrocarbazole derivatives. In this study, 4-hydroxy-2-methyl-1,2,3,4,4a,6,11,11a-octahydro-5H-pyrido[4,3-b]carbazole-5-one, which is a pyridocarbazole derivative, was synthesized via D type synthesis plan. So, ethyl 2,3,4,9-tetrahydro-1H-carbazole-3-carboxylate which was synthesized earlier was used as a starting compound. The ellipticine derivative was synthesized by consecutive synthesis steps to form the forth cycle of this compound. Ethyl 9-methyl-1-oxo-2,3,4,9-tetrahydro-1H-carbazole-3-carboxylate was also synthesized as a midproduct to synthesize new derivatives and its crystalline structure was exposed.Synthesized compounds were purified by using chromatographic methods and their structures were identified by using FT-IR and 1H-NMR.Key words: Tetrahydrocarbazole, ellipticine, olivacine.
