Özet (EN)

The New Turkish cinema, which has increased its effectiveness since the 1990s, has a socialist realistic and political structure. The domestic and international funds which were obtained by the directors of this cinema movement, enabled the formation of an independent and transnational cinema. In addition, the fact that the directors made their films in the place where they were born contributed positively to the realism of the films. It is admired by the cinema community abroad because it contains the universal values. Every year, many films participate in international festivals and receive awards. New Turkish cinema films reflect distant geographies to the big screen with a socialist realist ve critical perspective, not as a nostalgic place. Therefore, people who do not live in the area, will be able to see the reality there. For example, the Black Sea Region is generally known with comedy films in mainstream cinema. However, apart from its cheerful nature, that region also witnesses the troubles seen in many places. In this study, the problems that are adressed in the new Turkish cinema films made in the Black Sea Region will be discussed and the reasons why people move away from these problems will be the main subject of the study. Issues of race, ethnicity, belonging, politics and gender have an important place in the study. As a result of these issues, "social exclusion" will be the concepts to be emphasized frequently in the study. Furthermore, 14 feature films shot in the region constitute the sample of the study. The aim of the study is to search the reasons for people's need to move away from their place within the scope of "social exclusion"; It also aims to produce a qualitative discussion on the subject while showing how the spatial characteristics and multicultural structure of the Black Sea are handled in the films selected from the new Turkish cinema.
