Abstract (EN)

Cinema is a communication tool that adopts the task of conveying the message it contains to the audience and target group as a presentation by integrating visual and auditory elements. The required essential elements for this visual presentation are graphic design elements and posters. The evolution of graphic design continued with the printing press, which developed and changed over time. The development of graphic design has directly affected poster design. Poster designs, which aim to describe the product they advertise and promote in the most successful way, are an announcement tool consisting of indicators. While designing the poster, semiotics, which takes the meaning as the main element, is used so that the message to be conveyed can reach the target audience. Indicators in all areas of social and social life cause objects to turn into visual materials with the development of technology. Poster designs, which consist of indicators, convey messages about the movie to the audience and target audience together with the indicators. In this study, posters of 7 original films and remakes selected from 7 different categories were analyzed by semiotic analysis method.
