Inequality of opportunity in education in the spiral of reproduction: The case of Malatya This study focuses on the issue of "equal opportunity / inequality" in education, one of the most fundamental problem areas of our time. In our study titled "Inequality of opportunity in Education in the spiral of reproduction: The case of Malatya", the issue of opportunity equality / inequality has been examined by introducing various descriptive general categories as well as various variables which are more up-to-date and which enable us to define the problem in different ways. In this context, how to construct the theoretical ground of working is also important. The association of variables with current perceptions and expectations in the process of rapid change, the change and expansion of the field of the issue of equality of opportunity / inequality do not allow it to be explained in the form of knowledge or with a certain theoretical basis. For this reason, the theoretical basis of our study consists of a wide range of theoretical analyzes, from structural constructional explanation forms, to daily life-centered theories, from cultural analyzes to agent-oriented interpretations. Pierre Bourdieu's field and capital theory, Erving Goffman's dramaturgical theory, Henri Lefebvre's critiques of daily life, Michel De Certeau's conceptualization of "strategy and tactics" and Basil Bernstein's social language theory description as models some of the examples that constitute the theoretical ground of our study. How the principle of equality of opportunity, which is regarded as one of the most important principles in Turkey the education system, actually works, does not overlap with the reasons and conditions for which the results are defined in this framework in today 's conditions, the effect levels of schools, teachers and parents' attitudes towards equality of opportunity / inequality have been put forward with their multidimensional and relational dimensions. In the equality of opportunity / inequality discussions, the idea that the school process, which has been accepted and fixed in the axis of teachers, students and parents, is a powerful tool of the equality of opportunity or the school is opened to discussion. Contrary to what is thought, the view that the inequality of opportunity is the source of, or even reproduce, the inequality of opportunity in the school or in the educational process has been brought to the agenda as an alternative perspective. The research was designed based on exploratory mixed method model in which both qualitative and quantitative reseach design are used. The target population of the study consists of the students who study at the Private Basic High Schools and State High Schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education in Battalgazi and Yeşilyurt districts of Malatya province in 2018, the teachers working in these schools and the parents of the the students in these schools. In this study, the issue of equality of opportunity / inequality in education was examined through three main data sources: student, parent / parent (especially mother) and teacher. The main reasons for the inequality of opportunity in education / inequality, problems arising, the source of expectations and problems (structuring the institutional space, social and educational predispositions and forms of misrecognition) it is aimed to analyze some of the elements left behind. The qualitative data were collected using semi-structured interview forms, while the quantitative data were collected using a scale was developed by the researcher. For the qualitative dimension of the study, semi-structured interview technique was used which was prepared separately with 40 teachers and 20 mother of students. The qualitative data obtained from this semi-structured interview technique was analyzed and a new measurement tool was developed from the interpreted data and a new measurement tool was applied to 900 students in 11th and 12th grades as a questionnaire technique. In the study qualitative data before obtained then quantitative data was questioned.
