Abstract (EN)
Manufacturers find out that they have got more financial earnings by the day with bringing end of life cycle products in a new life cycle by remanufacturing operation. End of life products had no value for manufacturers in the past, but nowadays these products are valuable resources for manufacturers. The product recovery method of remanufacturing is one of the featured business models of todayRemanufacturing is called as ?Sleeping Giant? in literature because despite the huge importance it has, the economical effect of remanufacturing is presenting slowly. At the preliminary stage only capital goods are remanufactured, by the improvement of production technology remanufacturing has been used in many industry as a factor of decrease costs, protect environment and increase profit.The economical situation is the main reason for firms to make remanufacturing operation which is including the reverse logistic, disassembly, inspection and reassembly process. Within the increasing competition firms try to find the economical ways for low cost production. And this cause remanufacturing operations in firms. By using less resources and low cost production operations in remanufactured product, appropriate prices provide new market areas for firms.Dissertation consists of three sections. Product recovery methods and remanufacturing operation are examined in the first section. Second section includes the description of remanufacturing facilities; reverse logistic, design for remanufacturing, planning and control in remanufacturing operation. The third and final section of the study is including the field research of dissertation. A questionnaire is applied to firms for investigate the remanufacturing facilities in Turkey. Results and concluding comments are included in this section of the study.
