Abstract (EN)

The countries want to improve capital investments in electricity generation from renewable energy sources in the future. The decision-makers should consider various criteria such as the cost per kWh, renewability, total electricity generation capacity, sustainability, supply security, demand, and budget constraints when making investment decisions related to renewable electrical energy resources. In this study, instead of ranking the renewable energy alternatives, a mathematical model is developed for calculating the optimal amounts of the renewable energy sources and their optimal investment level according to the source's desirability compared with other renewable energy sources. We propose a case study for Turkey. A combination of approaches Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) and linear programming (LP) model is used in obtaining an optimal result. The developed model's applicability is illustrated in this study.
