The effect of renewable energy on sustainable development examining electric vehicles within the framework of SWOT analysis

This study aims to comprehensively examine the relationship between renewable energy and sustainable development, specifically through the example of electric vehicles. The increasing global energy demand and the environmental impacts of fossil fuels have heightened the importance of renewable energy sources. Renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, hydroelectric, geothermal, and biomass play a critical role in reducing carbon emissions and ensuring environmental sustainability. Sustainable development stands out as an approach that balances economic growth, environmental protection, and social well-being. Electric vehicles offer sustainable transportation solutions by reducing fossil fuel consumption. However, this transition process brings along various requirements, including infrastructure development, battery recycling, and incentive mechanisms. Within the scope of this thesis, the economic, social, and environmental impacts of renewable energy policies have been analyzed, and the energy strategies of different countries have been compared. The sectoral evaluation of electric vehicles has been systematically conducted using a SWOT analysis, identifying strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. Through a literature review and statistical data obtained from international organizations, this research provides a comprehensive framework for understanding the interaction between renewable energy and sustainable development. As a result, challenges and opportunities in the energy transition process have been assessed, and strategic recommendations have been developed for policymakers and investors.
