Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study is to evaluate 5 textbooks in Turkish that is designed to the updated curriculum according to the principles of visual design. Research data were collected the scale "Visual Design Efficacy of Turkish Textbooks" that is composed of 19 items and four dimensions; text and visual design, page design, writing design and production oriented features. Ankara and Bolu provinces are the universe of the research, the sample of the research is determined via the sampling method, easily accessible situation sampling. In this context, a total of 192 visual arts teachers and experts who are working in Ankara and Bolu provinces are took part in this research. In order to collect the data, 5 textbooks in Turkish were given to the participants and they were asked to fill in the scale. During the analysis of the data, T-test, Man-Whitney U-Test and One-Way ANOVA Variance Analyse (ANOVA) were used via SPSS 22.0 program (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences). At the end of the study, according to the opinions of candidate teachers, teachers and experts, 5 textbooks in Turkish were found to be generally sufficient in terms of text and visual design, page design, writing design and production-oriented features.
