A case study of an innovative preschool model: ABA- Preschool Academy of Arts and Sciences

The aim of this study is to examine how the school staff at ABA, Preschool Academy of Arts and Sciences, describe their experiences of the innovative aprroaches put in effect in terms of managerial and organizational processes. Qualitative (a case) approach was the methodology. Data were gathered primarily through on-site observations and interviews with 10 participants and the raw data were content analyzed and descriptive analyzed. Findings of the study suggest that procedures for the recruitment and professional development of teachers, the so called "design-build-operate and maintain" management model, use of 'High Scope Assessment and Record Keeping' system, natural foods and traditional-slow food- meals and ecological hygiene (non-toxic cleaning) were found to be primal innovative applications. The managerial model and the innovative procedures observed in this particular case can be extended to similar contexts. Key words: Pre-school, Innovation, School Management
