Abstract (EN)
Bursa is first capital of Osmanlı State known with buildings. This study is belong to Yenişehir township of Bursa and this study were realized to determine local plants. This study carried out between May, 2010 and June, 2011. The field research involved visits in township Yenişehir centers and u oto 15 associated villages.During this studies were identified 181 plants belonging to 63 families. Among them 157 taxa are wild and 24 taxa are cultivated. 8 taxa of them are endemic. 177 taxa of 181 taxa was determined local uses and vernucular names, and hundred of photos were taken. But 3 taxa were recorded with only vernucular names. The some time there was in region as wild some of cultivate plants. Findings of this study were presented in text with detail.In order of most to least, local uses were found to include food (70), folk medicine (67), decoration (32), handcrafts (19), animal food (14), ornamental graveyard plants (13), fuel (11), animal medicine (5), tea (5), spice (4), dye (3). An additional 40 taxa were recorded such as sericulture, brom, saddle, beehive, poison, cosmetic, animal to increase milk, homemade, warehouse, fragrance, evileye, child?s play, legend, story, oil, hedge, miscoariage, etc.As a result of this study that 58 taxa determined previously local uses were included new methods of uses of plants. Ethnobotanical information on 32 plant taxa was recorded fort he first time during studies in the region. This study have same uses recorded 91 taxa which in different regions determined use of them.During our studies ethnobotanical uses were determined uses of 181 plants and 316 vernucular names recorded. The vernucular names 174 not recorded in literature.Key words: Ethnobotany, Yenişehir, Bursa, Turkey
