Özet (EN)

This research was carried out to determine the mobbing perception levels of the personnel working in local governments and the methods they use in conflict management strategies, to examine mobbing perceptions and conflict management strategies according to various socio-demographic characteristics, and to determine the relationship between mobbing and conflict management strategies. The study was conducted with the general survey approach and relational survey model, which is one of the quantitative research models. The population of the research consists of 1075 personnel working in Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Youth and Sports Services Department. The sample group consists of a total of 261 personnel, 105 women and 156 men, selected by random application method. "The negative behaviors scale" (NAQ-TR) adapted into Turkish by Karaahmet and his colleagues (2013) and "conflict management strategies scale" adapted into Turkish by Gümüşeli (1994) and developed by Habip (2006) were used as a data collection tool in this study. Pearson Correlation, T-test, ANOVA and Multiplicity Linear Regression Analysis which are parametric hypothesis tests, were used for the analysis of the data. As a result; It was found that the mobbing levels perceived by the personnel were "below the medium level", and there were significant differences in terms of gender, marital status, the unit they worked in, the faculty they graduated from and the duty variables in Municipality. In conflict management strategies, the personnel preferred the "integration" the most and the "avoidance" method the least, and significant differences were found among gender, marital status, the faculty they graduated from, their duties and tenures in the institution, and their assignment status. It has been determined that there is a negative low level of relationship between the age criteria of the staff and the social support they receive from their managers and mobbing and there is a positive low level of relationship between the social support they receive from their friends and the age criteria and conflict management strategies. It has been found that mobbing predicts conflict management strategies negatively and significantly.
