Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, dyeing of the silk surgical yarn, which we target that every stages of production are native, to the desired black color has attempted. For dyeing Logwood (bakkam tree), a natural root dye, has been used. Amount of dyestuff has selected as 0.5%, 1%, 2% of the weight of the silk yarn to be dyed.It has been tried to determine how the amount of dyestuff will affect the dyeing process. By using two different mordans, mordan has chosen ,which has the best result, by examining the effect of mordan between dyestuff and silk yarn. Used mordans are iron-II sulphate and potassium sodium tartrate. For examining the effectiveness of pH in interaction of dyestuff and mordan, three different pH ranges have been studied. As a result of these studies; for the best results in dyeing of silk yarn; as a mordant material iron II sulfate is used. Also as the amount of mordant material %2 of silk yarn is used. As the rate of pH, the best result is detected in rates of pH 4,0-5,0. In the choice of methof, it has been observed that success in joint mordanting method is achieved.
