Abstract (EN)

This study was performed to determine the frequencies of Calpastatin (CAST), Leptin (LEP), and Growth hormone receptor (GHR) gene polymorphisms in Native Black (NB), and Eastern Anatolian Red (EAR) cattle. In the study, 50 heads of NB and 50 heads of EAR cattle were used, regardless of age and gender. Genotyping was done from the blood samples by PCR-RFLP method. In terms of CAST gene S20T polymorphism, the frequencies of CC, GC, and GG genotypes were determined at 56%, 40%, and 4% in NBs, 26%, 40%, and 34% in EARs, respectively. It was detected that the highest frequency in both NB (56%) and EAR (38%) was the AG genotype for GHR gene S555G polymorphism. In terms of LEP gene A80V polymorphism, only TT genotype was observed in all investigated breeds. As a result, a variation was identified for targeted CAST and GHR polymorphisms in the studied NB and EAR cattle; however, the flocks were found to be monomorphic in terms of LEP-A80V polymorphism. It is clear that further studies, which will determine the effects of the polymorphic structure in the CAST and GHR genes, are thought to be effective on meat yield and quality, on the phenotype in NB, and EAR cattle are necessary. While it is thought that the current study will contribute to the literature in terms of the protection of local gene resources, it will form the basis of these studies are predicted.
