Investigation of a new hospital in terms of green building and sustainability from the construction process within the scope of leed certification system

The gradual increase in living standards has caused the rapid increase of the buildings that cause environmental pollution. While all this is happening, worldwide troubles arise due to the way we treat nature in a very cruel way. In particular, the issue of climate change has become remarkable and the energy crisis is prioritized; It has led to the need to take measures to reduce the negative effects of buildings on the environment and to develop these measures. The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) green building certification program enables the design of sustainable buildings by promoting reductions in energy, water and building materials consumption while at the same time improving the health of building users and the connection to the general community. Green buildings approved by the program are about the design of buildings to withstand external stresses that may arise throughout their life, in order to be truly sustainable while reducing the environmental footprint. In addition, LEED; provides prerequisites and credits to projects in some environmental categories. These are sustainable areas, materials and resources, water efficiency, energy and atmosphere, indoor air quality, innovation in design and regional priority. The purpose of this certification system; To ensure that the building is not only environmentally friendly, and uses building materials, but also has a working and operating process with minimal negative impact / effects on environmental matrices (air, soil, groundwater, water and energy). Contribution of LEED Certification to environmental targets in a qualified project; It is presented to the public in studies conducted under the main headings of sustainability and energy saving. This designed and built study has been examined within the scope of the LEED 2009 version rating system and all subcategories that this version includes have been evaluated with a detailed examination; It is the examination of a hospital project designed and implemented as a whole with the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Certification system under the principle of sustainability. Successful strategies and special examples of innovative practices used in the Hospital Project have been subjected to a qualified certification process and these examples have been continuously followed and the study has been completed.
