Investigation of the relationship between cognitive distortions related to interpersonal relationships and the parenting event in adult individuals

In this study; The relationship between cognitive distortions and parenting in adults and the differentiation of these variables according to demographic characteristics were examined. The sample of the study consists of 515 adult individuals with siblings. In order to collect data in the research; Demographic Information Form, Cognitive Distortions Related to Relationships Scale and Parenting Inventory were used, and the relational survey model was used as the research model. The data obtained from the participants were analyzed with the SPSS 21.0 statistical program. Independent Sample T-Test, One-Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and Pearson Correlation Analysis were performed to analyze the data. When the findings of the study were examined, it was seen that there was a moderate, positive correlation between cognitive distortions related to relationships and parenting. The differentiation of the variables according to demographic characteristics was examined. The findings were discussed within the framework of the literature and various suggestions were presented.
