Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this research is to examine the relationship between the concepts of decision making, impulsivity and motivation. Another aim of the study is to examine whether the relationship between these three concepts shows significant differences in terms of educational status, gender, employment status, perceived income level and marital status. In this study, in order to examine the relationship between Decision Making, Impulsivity and Motivation in Adults and the relationship between sociodemographic characteristics, the Melbourne Decision-Making Scale, the Barrat Impulsivity Scale, the Adult Motivation Scale and the Sociodemographic information form were used to learn about demographic characteristics. The universe of this research consists of individuals between the ages of 18 and 60 who participated from Turkey. The sample group of the study consisted of a total of 352 participants, 206 female and 146 male, who were randomly selected on a voluntary basis. SPSS 21.0 statistical package program was used in the analysis of the data. It is aimed to carry out the discussion in the light of the findings obtained. Based on the findings of the study, a relationship was found between the impulsivity levels of the participants and their self-esteem in decision making. When the impulsivity scores and careful decision making scores of the participants were examined, it was found that as their impulsivity scores increased, their careful decision making scores decreased. There is a relationship between impulsivity and avoidant decision making. A relationship was found between impulsivity scores and panic decision making, procrastinating decision making and intrinsic motivation scores. In addition, a relationship was observed between impulsivity scores and extrinsic motivation scores. A relationship was found between the participants' intrinsic motivation scores and their self-esteem in decision making, careful decision making, avoidant decision making, procrastinating decision making and panic decision making scores. A relationship was found between extrinsic motivation scores and self-esteem and careful decision making, avoidant decision making, procrastinating decision making and panic self-esteem and extrinsic motivation in decision making. There was a relationship between mindful style and intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation, one of the sub-dimensions of the decision making scale. A significant relationship was found between avoidant style and intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation, which are sub-dimensions of the decision making scale. There is a relationship between procrastination style, intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation, which is one of the sub-dimensions of the decision making scale. There was a relationship between panic style and intrinsic motivation, one of the sub-dimensions of the decision making scale. There is no relationship between panic style and extrinsic motivation. Women's impulsivity and "panic style" scores in decision making are higher than men. "Intrinsic motivation" and "extrinsic motivation" scores of the Adult Motivation Scale sub-dimensions do not differ according to genderdecision making scores. Among the sub-dimensions of impulsivity and decision making scale, a relationship was observed with self-esteem and careful style in decision making, avoidant style, procrastinating style and panic style. A relationship was found between impulsivity and intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation. It has also been observed that there is a relationship between self-esteem and intrinsic motivation in decision making, one of the sub-dimensions of the decision making scale. There is no relationship between panic style and extrinsic motivation. It is seen that impulsivity differs significantly according to the age variable. It is seen that self-esteem scores in decision making differ significantly according to working status. Women's impulsivity and "panic style" scores in decision making are higher than men. "Intrinsic motivation" and "extrinsic motivation" scores of the Adult Motivation Scale sub-dimensions do not differ according to gender.
