Abstract (EN)

Gaining a balanced nutritional habits is one of the protective factors which decreases prevalence of cardiovascular diseases, obesity, diabetes etc.. Malnutrition and vile practices are one of the most important causes which effect persons? life quality negativelyIn this study, results of biochemical tests of patients who are diagnosed with diabetes, hyperlipidemia and hypertension and survey results which are applied those patients are examined. As a result of this survey, the importance of balanced nutritional habits on health has been emphasized. In this study group 52 men and 81 women are taken place. Since, participants? education level is at least high school; their knowledge and awareness about the related subject have been considered as adequate. However, their basic nutrition levels are revealed with some deficiency. According to findings, patients? improper nutrition habits lead increase of their blood lipid values over normal values. Because body-mass index is over the normalized values over 40 years old patients, this situation is evaluated as obesity.Waist circumference, systolic and diastolic hypertension, fasting blood glucose, triglyceride levels of patients with metabolic syndrome are stated higher and their HDL-cholesterol level is stated lower than the control group. Fasting blood glucose of patient group which is diagnosed with only diabetes is confirmed as significantly higher than the control groups? glucose level. (143mg/dL) Likewise, fasting blood glucose of patients with diabetes and hyperlypidemia is significantly higher than the control groups? glucose level as well (182 mg/dL). Triglyceride (268 mg/dL) and cholesterol (247 mg/dL) levels of patients with only hyperlypidemia is revealed as significantly higher than the control group.
