Histopathology, effects, incidence and determination of ectoparasites on aquarium (Cyprinidae and Poecilidae) fish and their control

The samples of Carassius auratus ; Poecilia reticulata, Poecilia latipina, Xiphophorus helleri, Xiphophorus maculatus were collected from several fishery farmers in Mersin and total number of 1440 infected fishes in different species at different age and weight were examined to determine parasites by symptomatological and morphological assays, and the place of the host where the parazites feeds. During the studies Oodinium pillularis, Costia necatrix, Ichtyopthirius nmltifitis, Chilodonella hexastichus, Trichodina nigra Dactylogyrus extensus, Gyrodactylus bullatarudis, Lernaea cyprinacea and Argulus foliaceus in C.auratus;,and Oodinium pillukais, Ichtyopthirius multifllis, Trichodina nigra, Gyrodactylus bullatarudis Lernaea cyprinacea in Poecilia reticulata, Poecilia latipina, Xiphophorus helleri, Xiphophorus maculatus were identified as a parasites of aquarium fishes in Mersin.Gyrodactylus bullatarudis, Lernaea cyprinacea Oodinium pillularis, are Costia necatrix are discovered to be records of parasites of aquarium fishes.The research is in trial to look the possibility of medical plants to be control the parasites of aquarium fishes in Turkey.
