Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between psychological resilience level and community sense of adolescents living with their families and adolescents staying at Orphanages. Another purpose of this study is to determine whether there are significant differences among groups created in respect to independent variables (gender, family income level, durations in institutions (orphanages), age, visiting frequencies of parents, number of brothers/sisters, number of close friends, individual number living in home or room). The research was carried out on 158 students who study at four different high schools in Istanbul province which is affiliated to National Education Ministery and 101 students who stay at institutions within the body of Ministry of Family and Social Policies in Istanbul province on 2016-2017 academic year. A ''Short Information Form'' with the purpose of obtaining information about variables like; age, gender, school type, education level of parents, family income level, Child and for the purpose of determining psychological resilience levels of both groups; Adolescent Psychological Resilience Scale developed by Liebenberg, Ungar and Van de Vijyer (2013) and for the purpose of determining sense of community levels of students Sense of Community Scales developed by Chiessi, Cicognani and Sonn (2010) were used. Data obtained were analysed with Kruskal Wallis H and One Way Anova, Mann Whitney U,t-test and Spearman Correlation according to normal distribution and homogeneity status between variables by using SPSS 17 programme. As a result of research, it can be suggested that there was a significant relationship between sense of community and psychological resilience levels of both groups. However, it was investigated whether there was a significant relationship between sense of community and psychological resilience levels or not. Results obtained from research were discussed and suggestions were mad efor further researches. Keywords: Orphanage, Resilience, Sense of Community
