The analysis of the examples of the twentieth century housing estates

Housing problem, caused by the excessive increase in the population of the city and theirinsufficiencies, was made people find different solutions. Housing estates, which wereproduced in accordance to changing needs since the industrial revolution, were arrivedto a solution of the ?city in the city? system.In this study, a literature search, including library search and a study of the Internetpublications, about the urbanizations planned during the industrialization process andthe twentieth century housing estates, were done. Moreover, to have solutions to futurehousing estates were been the aim of the study. In the first part of the study,industrialization process, urbanisations after industrilization and the housing zonesplanned during the process were examined to understand the conditions of the periodthey were produced. In addition, the housing types built up during the process weresubmitted. In the second part, to clarify the reasons of producing the examples of the20th century housing estates, 19th century house plans were shortly mentioned andthese housing estates were studied according to their floor plans with classifying as?Opened Systems? and ?Closed Systems?. In the third part housing expectations wereexplained, and the projects success of meeting these expectations were researched.
