Abstract (EN)

We studied to the healthcare associated infections on intensive care units. We aimed to determinate the risk factors for the acinetobacter infections and to estimate of the mortality and the most effective therapy. This retrospective case control study was done between June 2013 and October 2015. We included to study that the patients above 18 years old in the intensive care units and hospitalized over 48 hours. Our case group was the patients with acinetobacter infections; the control group was consisted from the patients with other Gram negative microorganisms. The groups had similar properties about age and gender. We studied to patients with 210 Gram negative infection attack, 114 of them in Acinetobacter group and 96 of them in control group. The most frequent infection caused by Acinetobacter spp. is ventilation associated pneumonia as 75 (65.8%). The most risk factors that was determinate in our study as follows: under hospitalization in the neurosurgery intensive care unit (p=0.001), under transfusion (p=0.037), operation (p=0.01), intubation (p=0.02), mechanical ventilation (p=0.04), PEG (p=0.016), central venous peripheral catheter (p=0.001), arterial catheter (p=0.021), consecutively. In the Acinetobacter group, the only risk factor is found the effect to the mortality that were malignity (p=0.012). Who had hospitalizated with infective status, had been operated and transfused have acinetobacter infection risk. The malignity will increase the mortality. In intensive care units infection control and isolation practises should be implemented attentively. The interventional procedures should be questioned about its necessity and the duration of patients hospitalized with infective status.
