Knowledge levels and perceptions of intensive care nurses regarding narcotic analgesic drugs

The research was conducted on nurses working in intensive care units with narcotic analgesics. in order to examine their knowledge levels and perceptions about drugs. It is a descriptive study. The universities of the researchare : Düzce University Health Application and Research Center (40 nurses) and Sakarya University Training and Research Hospital (200 nurses) A total of 240 nurses working in adult intensive care units have been created. The research sample was between May-December 2021. 239 nurses who could be reached and met the research criteria have been found 'Demographic Data Collection Form', 'Narcotics Analgesic Drug Use Knowledge Level Questionnaire and 'Nurses' It was collected with the Scale of Perception of Opioid Applications. In the analysis of data, descriptive statistical methods, parametric comparison tests and correlation tests were used. Knowledg score level of nurses about narcotic analgesics The mean is 10.88±1.89, and the level of knowledge is medium. Narcotic Analgesic knowledge level mean score and educational status, occupation working hours in intensive care the status of being educated about the use of narcotic analgesic drugs and among the general approaches to the use of narcotic analgesic drugs. there is a statistically significant difference (p<0.05). Nurses received 60.3% training on narcotic analgesic drugs. Education The level of knowledge of those who do not receive it is higher than those who do not. In line with the results, nurses in intensive care units regularly train in-unit about narcotic analgesic drugs. and that is the training witch is recommended for nurses.
