Poverty, measurement of poverty and analysis about Turkey

In recent years; poverty which is an important agenta item of development process is in the content of the economics studies. Poverty that arised in parallel with the economic and/or social development, measurement of poverty and analysis of poverty from different and several point of view are formed an opinion for this study.The main focus of this study is to deal with the poverty as one of the fundamental concern of development economics with its related literature and concept, poverty indicators and the corrective actions taken. Also the data gathered from ?The Survey of Household Budget? and some other statistical studies are analyzed for Turkey.The document has four main parts: The first part covers the conceptual framework of poverty and the poverty indicators. In the second part; the poverty boundary, poverty metrics and the corrective and preventing actions taken are studied and researched. The third part of this document is comprised of the poverty rates and boundaries which are derived from the ?The Survey of Household Budget?. Finally; the fourth part covers the affective factors of poverty and an overall regional analysis.Key Words: Poverty, survey of hausehold budget, poverty boundary, poverty indicators, poverty rates.
