Mobbing from managers' perspectives: The comparative research on banks in Eskişehir and Bakü

Abstract (EN)

The research is of great importance for both Turkey and Azerbaijan. It is the first research that uses a qualitative research method on mobbing and also deals with the banking sector in Azerbaijan and the tenth thesis study that deals with the banking sector and the concept of mobbing in Turkey. At the same time, it is one of the rare studies that take into account the perspectives of managers in the banking sector. The study found serious differences between Turkey and Azerbaijan in relation to the research on mobbing in the banking sector, brought the concept of "reciprocal mobbing" to the literature, and examined the level of mobbing of employees and managers from the managers' point of view. This research, using the interview technique of the qualitative research method, focused on the senior and middle level managers working in the banking sector in Turkey and Azerbaijan, the level of exposure to mobbing of managers, the level of mobbing awareness they have, the level of mobbing employees are exposed to from the point of view of the managers, the problems in the banking were detected and a comparison was made between countries. The research sample includes 4 bank managers from Eskişehir province of Turkey and 4 bank managers from Baku province of Azerbaijan. Each of the interviews lasted 40-50 minutes. The obtained data were analyzed by content analysis.
