The effects of the manager's branch on hi̇s/her colleagues at school

In our study, we have examined the effects of fields of school principals on teachers of the same field (communication of principles with teachers, on what subjects this communication is mostly about, impact of applied management type on teachers, whether recommendations are made for teachers' professional development, differences in attitudes exhibited towards teachers of other fields, appreciate the opinions of teachers in the professional sense, advantages and disadvantages of working with principles from the same field, if worked with a principle from a different field the differences between the two, does being in the same field have any effect on the success of the course) through subject titles. Using qualitative research approach, 34 teachers, who work in Istanbul province in the 2014-2015 academic year, were asked semi-structured interview form developed by the researchers and the data obtained here was interpreted by using qualitative data, analysis and defining the findings. In this study, maximum diversity case sampling was used among purposive sampling methods. A total of 34 teachers participated our study including 27 women and 7 men. Throughout the research, 5 teachers in literature field, 1 in French, 9 in English, 1 in physics, 1 in music, 2 in social studies, 1 in geography, on in history, one in biology, one in counselling, 1 in science, 7 in classroom teaching, 1 in painting/art teaching and 1 in physical education teaching were interviewed. The data of this research was collected in the 2014-2015 academic year. Results achieved in the analysis of this data can be summarized as following; 1. It was stated that communication with principles occurred in areas such as student achievement, teaching methods and techniques, innovations and improvements within their fields of study , legislation, administrative works and assessment & evaluation; and participants that do not experience any difficulties in communication expressed of a higher motivation. 2. Even though it was stated that being/teaching in the same field has a positive effect on teachers since two sides understand each other better and this also provides more support, information and guidance for them, It was also asserted by the teachers that their work enthusiasm is affected negatively due to more critical approach as a result of area domination and making comparison with their teaching. 3. The importance of having an approach that guides the teacher outside the administrative tasks of the principal are highlighted. 4. Principals must create an effective learning environment by motivating all teachers in the school for a common purpose. To manage that, principals must keep the same distance to teachers in all fields and must not give one field any more prominence than the others. It was expressed that creation of a democratic and a fair environment within the instutition has a connection with principal's attitude and manner. 5. It was thought that being in the same field facilitates to move faster when raching a solution and to develop empathy.
