A research on the determining the managerial values of the private airport operations in Turkey

The purpose of this scientific study is to determine what the values that provide reference to the daily actions and decisions of the managers of airport operations in Turkey are different and whether these values differ according to the social characteristics and organizational conditions in which the managers are trained. The general opinion taken into account in the determination of the values adopted by the airport managers is that the Turkish society has a binary culture structure, western and local. In addition to the values that the managers have adopted in the study, the perceptions of the values of the region and the institutions that the managers are in are investigated. For this purpose, the differences among the value groups adopted by the managers and the value groups in terms of education, social and organizational conditions were examined through the data obtained from the 163 persons who manage at the middle and upper level in the airport operators in Turkey. In terms of the values that the managers adopt, it is seen that the adoption level of western values is higher. When it is examined whether the values adopted by the managers differ according to education, social conditions and organizational characteristics, it has been determined that some of the adopted western and local value groups do not differ according to the genders of the managers. However, it has been found that the values of the managers differ according to the duration of the occupation, the duration of the institution, the total duration of the work, the level of education of the mother and father, and the number of employees.
