Yücel Balku: His life and works

Although the studies in Modern Turkish Literature look relatively sufficent, the uniformities on the variety of subjects are observed. For example, although there are sometimes dozens of studies on artists appearing more fortunate in terms of weight in the literary history by reason of popularity, our precious artists whose life and works haven't been studied so far despite releasing good products, expected to be told and understood in a corner. We, in order to deal with this issue, evaluated the life and works of Yücel Balku who devoted his life to writing but never been the subject to any academic research so far. Rather than an inspection study, we aimed to write an "artist biography" which designed as three section, only around the concepts of "His Life and Works" without giving sub-headings. Thus, we also aimed to reveal the issues like; what kind of sources he is fed by, people or person who inspired, how the object and referances are reflected in the text, and how fiction and reality merge into each other. We enriched the content of our work by supporting the information we get from his family and friends contacted with him directly, with the information taken from his texts, diaries, letters etc. Keywords: Yücel Balku, biography, story, Ghost Ship, creative writer...
