Abstract (EN)

This study aims to state socio-cultural and religious factors that affect attitudes and behaviors of the students of Faculty Theology. Therefore, in the first chapter, which literary studies take place, the relation between religion and leisure time, popular culture and also music; views of religious communirty to popular culture and music;culturel and musical development in our country are handled. In the second chapter, the method of quantitative areal questionnaire is used. The questionnaire which measures the attitudes, behaviors and the factors affecting those is conducted to totally 596 freshman and senior students of the Faculties of Theology in Izmir, Bursa, Ankara, Kayseri and Diyarbakır. The analyses and the interpretations of the questionnaire are shown with tablesin this part. Contrary to the hypotheses that students generally have negative attitudes towards music, positive findings werw obtained.
