Abstract (EN)

Lightness, cheapness, and less raw material consumption come into by prominence by the fast-growing technology and this situation increases the tendency towards polymer and polymer foams. Polymer foam materials are forced to static and dynamic loads depending on their usage areas. In this study, the static and dynamic mechanical properties of the samples obtained from polypropylene, one of the polymer foam materials, at different densities were investigated. Stress-strain curves were obtained by using the static compression test system to examine the mechanical behavior under static load and the Split Hopkinson compression bar test system to examine the mechanical behavior under dynamic load. Static and dynamic mechanical properties increased with increasing density. Also a sample phone packaging material made of EPP foam material was modeled by entering the data obtained from the dynamic experiments into the HyperMesh program, and its performance under the impact load that it would be exposed to as a result of falling from a height was examined by finite element analysis.
