Abstract (EN)
Today, after considering the probable problems that can be encountered during and after the construction of the buildings, scientific studies are carried out for the reasons and solutions of these problems. Some of these problems are caused by poorly soil conditions and Geotechnical Engineers provide solutions to these problems. In geotechnical field, it is essential to provide the bearing capacity and settlement criteria in terms of economy. It is necessary to transfer the static and dynamic loads from the superstructure to the foundation safely and to ensure slopeexcavation stability. If this situation cannot be achieved, it causes devastating effects and therefore the concept of soil improvement comes up as one of the options for the solution of the problem. The requirements for soil improvement methods enable the development of technology and many methods in this field. With the developing technology, manufacturing high modulus columns (jet grout columns) in the soil has become one of the most used soil improvement methods in our country. In addition to the improvement methods applied, geotechnical software such as Plaxis, Midas GTS and Geo5 are being developed in order to identify the soil problems and to determine the efficiency of the solution to be made. By means of these softwares, it is possible to control the performance of the anticipated building at the current soil conditions and then the solution results can be evaluated together with the properties of the soil and the type of soil improvement can be decided. After that, the effect of improvement can be analyzed numerically in two or three dimensions. During the 1999 earthquakes, Adapazarı has come to the forefront due to the loss of life and economic losses. After the earthquakes, the soil problems such as loss of bearing capacity and liquefaction are frequently encountered in Adapazarı. However, at the end of the same investigations, the presence of very dense sand / gravel layers, which can have a thickness of 6-8 m just below the soft layers encountered on the surface, was also revealed in Adapazarı. In this context, with the help of Midas GTS software, the high modulus columns is presented as a solution to the soil problems that may be encountered in Adapazarı region is examined. At the end of the study, the creation of jet-grout columns with different modelings is explained and the results are presented. Keywords: Bearing capacity, settlement, liquefaction, jet-grouting
