Abstract (EN)
Despite the developments in the repair industry, there may be cases where repair mortars, one of the materials used in the repair of damaged structures, cannot meet the issues such as early age performance, long-term durability properties, ductility capacities and effectiveness in field conditions. Within the scope of this thesis, it is aimed to produce Engineered Cementitious Composites (ECC) as panels, which show high performance at early and final ages, have high durability and ductility, form strain hardening and also provide crack control, and use in repair. In the first part of the thesis, material tests were carried out for the ECC to be used in the repair. In this context, the processes of determining the materials to be used and their quantities were carried out and the optimum ratios were determined with the appropriate material. Compressive strength and bending strength values were determined from the basic mechanical properties of the samples by performing compressive and bending tests on the samples produced for this purpose. In addition, deflection tests were carried out in order to determine the ductility properties of the samples within the scope of the bending test. In the second part of the thesis; 4 two-storey, single-span, 1/3 geometric scale reinforced concrete frames with the same geometric dimensions, reinforcement details and concrete class were produced. Three of the 4 reinforced concrete frames produced were subjected to earthquake-simulated reversed-cyclic lateral loads to provide different damage levels, while the 4th frame was tested similarly as a reference sample up to the collapse level. Frames with different damage levels were repaired with ECC panels with the same properties, then tested under reversed-cyclic lateral loads and the effects of repair on the performance of reinforced concrete frames at different damage levels were determined. According to the test results, the repair made; It has been seen that it increases the lateral load carrying capacity, stiffness, ductility and energy consumption, and also improves the earthquake behavior.
