Abstract (EN)
In this study, it was aimed to increase elevated temperature strength of commercially pure aluminium. In this purpose, 0.5wt.%, 1wt.% and 2wt.% nano-Y2O3 dispersions were added to molten aluminium by stir casting method. Elevated temperature tensile behaviour of produced alloys was investigated from room temperature up to 250 °C. Tensile test observations revealed that the yield strength of all Y2O3/Al alloys increased with increasing temperature. The highest value of yield strength at 125°C and 250°C was observed with 0.5wt.% Y2O3 reinforcement. While the ultimate tensile strength of alloys at room temperature was lower than the pure aluminium, it was observed that the ultimate strength of all Y2O3/Al alloys at 250°C was slightly higher than pure aluminium.
