Investigation of the effect of using earthquake rubber isolators in high buildings

Özet (EN)

In this study, seismic isolator usage effect is examined in high structures. Hospital structures with different heights were modeled using SAP2000 software with both normal supported and seismic base isolatoed case, and according to the TBDY2018 Regulation, non -linear earthquake analysis was performed in both mode merge and Time History methods and height effect was examined in seismic isolated structures. The structural system of high rise reinforced concrete buildings is selected to be rijid core system To get high resistance of building against earthquake load. This system consistes shear walls and concrete column-beam frames. Modeled buildings are 5-storey building with a height of 20 meters, 10-storey building with a height of 40 meters, 18-storey building with a height of 72 meters and 25-storey building with a height of 100 meters. 5 and 10 storey buildings are not consisted in high-rise building regulation of TSC2018. But in this study to make close copmarison between normal supported and sismec base isolated buildings and the changing of sismec isolator effect in high rise building same earthquake analyses will be applied for all buildings. The seismic isolator type which selected is LRB elastomeric (rubber) isolator type. The analysis resultes were evaluated considering periods, storey displacements, columns forces and base shear/axial force.
