Abstract (EN)
Wetlands are the areas which have important effects and functions on protecting human life, balance of the nature, and biological variety, besides being potential exploitation sources. Observing the changes of these sensitive areas is important study for data collecting and correct planning for the future. In this study, coastal changing inYumurtalık wetland system are determined by using remotly sensed data and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) between 1992-2000. Area of study images are receved from Landsat 5 satellite. ERDAS İmagine program is used to process the Images. It is seen that remote sensing can not only be used for shore change process, but also identifying the factors that cause the change. As a result this technology can lead us for protecting the shore areas.Key Words: Wetlands, Landsat Satellite Images, Geographic Information Systems,Change Detection, Remote Sensing
